🧰 Course Structure & Modules

• The degree is made up of mandatory (core) modules plus a variety of optional modules in later years.

• Examples of optional modules (years 2-3 or equivalent) include: International & Comparative Human Rights Law; Law of Evidence; Public International Law; Family Law; Medical Law; Intellectual Property Law; Company Law; Clinical Legal Education; Asylum & Immigration; Jurisprudence; Media Law; Succession Law; Tax Law; etc.

• Assessments vary: essays, coursework, oral presentations, exams (often in May/June), reports, debates/analysis. Formative and summative assessments are used. Progression to next year depends on passing required core modules

📋 Entry Requirements

• A-Levels: Typically AAB-ABB for the standard law degree.

• For the Law with Integrated Foundation Year, a lower requirement (e.g. CCC-CCD) is acceptable.

• GCSEs: You need at least 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C (or 9-4), including English and Mathematics.

• English Language requirements for international students include: IELTS 6.5 overall (with specific minimums for writing, reading); Pearson Test of English etc.

🔍 Additional Info

• For students who don’t meet direct entry requirements, the Foundation Year is a pathway into the full degree

• The “Year in Industry” option gives practical/work experience.

• The law degree is a qualifying law degree: it meets academic requirements for future qualification as a solicitor or barrister under the current regulatory systems.
